Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in found in both male and female’s bodies. It is a peptide hormone with a variety of functions.
In order to create the proper hormonal conditions that enable the egg to implant, it is advised that women purchase chorionic gonadotropin in the early stages of pregnancy. Gonadotropin functions in men as a type of luteinizing hormone (LH), which stimulates the release of testosterone from specific cells.
As a result, after the cycle of anabolic steroids has ended, this hormone contributes to an increase in testosterone levels.

HCG serves two distinct functions:
- During a steroid cycle, to lessen the effects of low testosterone.

A dose of roughly 250-500IU, given 2-3 times per week, is generally effective for bodybuilders using HCG throughout a cycle of steroids to try to prevent testicular shrinkage.
For 10 days, 500IU of gonadotropin must be taken every day to start PCT.
The HCG half-life is 3-4 days on average.
HCG is available for purchase as a powder. Thereafter, it needs to be blended with bacteriostatic water and kept in the fridge for up to 60 days. Injections of gonadotropin are administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously.

Side effects of the drug
If you take Human Chorionic Gonadotropin as prescribed, it is one of the best tolerated drugs available. However, if you take too much, you’ll trigger an abrupt rise in estrogen, which can lead to issues like:
- Gynecomastia.
- Abdominal distention.
- Increase in blood pressure.
- Clogging in blood vessels

This will be one of the key players when it comes to recovering properly after your cycle and getting back to normal hormone levels.
