Description
Megamentin 625 is an oral drug produced by Intas Pharmaceuticals. This product contains a combination of two drugs. These include the beta-lactamase inhibitor Potassium Clavulanate and the antibiotic Amoxicillin, which together function to kill bacteria.
The drug is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections of the skin, teeth, joints, bones, lungs, sinuses, and urinary tract. Acne is a common skin condition caused by bacteria in the skin and is usually treated with it.
Benefits of taking Augmentin
Together, the many components of the drug can efficiently eliminate the bacteria that causes diseases because each component of the treatment acts differently. The action of amoxicillin is to stop the development of bacteria. It accomplishes this by preventing the development of the protective layer that is necessary for bacteria to live. Potassium Clavulanate is in control of lessening bacterial resistance and boosting the effectiveness of Amoxicillin.
How to take Amoxicillin & Potassium pills
The recommended dosage of the drug is often between 750 and 1125 mg each day, depending on the severity of the infection you are trying to treat (2-3 tablets taken evenly spaced apart throughout the day). The drug is administered up until all signs of infection are fully eliminated. Avoid stopping the drug too soon because if you do, some bacteria may still be present, and you could develop antibiotic resistance.
Amoxicillin side effects
Stomach trouble is a common adverse effect of the treatment; however, this can be avoided by taking the drug with meals. The drug’s other negative effects, such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, should go away once you finish using it.
